In adaptive modulation, in order to demodulate the transmitted data correctly, the receiver has to know which modulation is being used at the transmitter.
Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a multi-carrier modulation scheme for the upcoming communication systems in order to achieve high data rates in multipath fading environments.
Adaptive modulation is used in OFDM system in conjunction with the channel state information (CSI) of the channel to adaptively increase the spectral efficiency of the high speed data transmission system.
OFDM in combination with the adaptive modulation is applied in this project. An algorithm is proposed which adapts the distinct modulation schemes, BPSK, QPSK... and 64-PSK accordingly to the varying channel condition.
